La Cava Barcelona

This was one of my favorite tapas dinners of our trip! Great selection of the classics as well as some we hadn’t seen before, all flawlessly executed with their own little flair. Not a fancy place, but cool vibe and friendly service. The calamari was some of the best I have had anywhere!

We 'd walked past this place a few times whilst on holiday in Platja d 'Aro and on our final day we decided to stop for lunch what a fabulous place! We opted for the 6 course 'taster ' menu. You select the main course part (we both selected the mushroom/cuttlefish one, though the table next to us got the fish and that looked fabulous as well). The small courses were lovely, refreshing (the gazpacho was the best I 'd had), really really nice, included a desert that was also yummy and at 18 euro/each was well priced. We left feeling very sated. Later that evening, it being our last night and having viewed the other menu longingly earlier on, we decided to go back for dinner and try the other menu. Like the other reviews I highly recommend the octopus, the mussels were lovely and all the things we tried yummy! The owner/managers were great to talk to, very friendly and welcoming (spoke fantastic English which was good considering our dire lack of Catalan/Spanish). Would both recommend and return again!

Everything about this joint was on point beautiful food (octopus everything else we ate was amazing) with very friendly and attentive staff.

Octopus I had, was the best I have ever had. This is definitely must have If you plan to visit Platja d'Aro. Both. Restaurant La Cava Barcelona and their seafood. And THAT limet sauce (served with some other fish), that was something worth to visit again and again and again. La Cava Barcelona, thank you for your welcoming service and unforgettable meal we had.

La Cava Barcelona is beautiful and intimate place located in Platja de Aro. The food is absolutely amazing and beautifully presented. I got tapas to start and grilled osctopus with curry hummus for my main. This restaurant is well worth a visit if you are in Platja de Aro.
