Ely Beach - Castell-Platja d'Aro

Visited with high hopes, left hugely disappointed. Service was okay, but the food was terrible. Clearly frozen ingredients and old, stale oil used for cooking. Unacceptable. Giving it 1 star only.

Went along with my wife for lunch. A small drink was included with the menu. We went for the beer, which turned out to be just a small glass of draft beer caña of may be 250 ml ; that 's for the customers to order extra drinks... When we told them that it was tasting funny, therefore out of date, reluctantly they said that if customers say so we must be right... They brought then 2 bottles upon our request to replace the nasty caña 333 ml , indeed the bottled beer was good but then just charged for the bottles without further explanation. Look, if you include crappy stuff in your menu, you might as well not include it at all same goes for the bread... .

Service was good, seat at the front overlooking the sea was great. They had a unique way of getting food from the kitchen, out of the window! Front of house gentleman was a delight. And food was good. Gazpacho andaluz, very tasty, grilled asparagus, chipirones and mussels. Not cheap, but good value.
