One of our local restaurants, with really good parking and always with space for diners. we ate here 2 dinners and always enjoyed eating and service.
We visited monchique and on our way we passed this place. it was a Sunday and it was filled with locals. it wasn't really clear if we could just sit down, but there was obviously a waiting list. After we all sit, everything was fine....Our server didn't speak English, but she understood what we meant. the food was excellent. I had a quail and my wife had a lamb stew, both delicious. we ate with 2 children and 3 adults for 50 euro and that included a karaffe wein. the staff was very busy, and with a bit of a language barrier I can understand that people do not perceive the service excellently. this place does not focus on tourist. if they want an authentic Algarve experience, they must go to this place. we ate in many restaurants in the algarve and that was the best in considering the price.
We stayed in this restaurant after we visited the parque da mina near, and we were so glad that we did. it seems to be a family business, and eating was all cooked at home and delicious. the brot was absolutely amazing, and we even ended up chasing to pick up an additional brot to bring home with us what they have committed! great prizes too.
We went to O Maximino last Sunday for a family meal and it was great we had some of the specialitys ,Black Pig Barbecue grilled, wild Boar and Cod fish Brás style all dishes were coocked perfectly and very tasty the deserts were the traditional rice...pudding and a carope cake we realy enjoy it and I do reconend to couples groups of frieends or familys easy parking just by the main road and very reasonable prices.
