El Rey Azteca - Carthage

The reviews for this place are greatly exaggerated. The chips are stale, the salsa is watered down, and the food lacks flavor. I really should have gone to the restaurant across the street instead.

El Rey Azteca is an absolute treasure. The food here is outstanding. I don’t believe the locals fully realize the quality they have access to. I never imagined I would discover such an exceptional restaurant in a small town in Tennessee.

Delicious margarita and cheesiest burrito I’ve ever had (definitely recommend the steak)

As for kid-friendliness, my kids can be quite a handful at times, and I appreciate that we've never been treated poorly because of their behavior.

Food was good. Rice was a little bland but we admittedly came in kind of late. Definitely plan to give it another chance because I normally hear rave reviews about the rice.
