Contribuiți la feedbackOle Ole used to be great food before covid hit. Then they closed until recently. Now their food sucks and its too bad it used to be great Mexican food.
Not a good experience. Asked for a table was told there was a half hour wait. The restaurant was half full at best with numerous empty tables. Sat in the bar to wait. No one asked if I wanted anything so I went to the bar to order a drink. There were 4 people sitting there. The useless bartender ignored me as she could not multi task. She didn't even acknowledge me with a nod or greeting. After waiting 10 minutes for her I got tired and returned to my seat anticipating she would come take my order. Nope. She continued to ignore me although it was obvious that I had wanted to order. She started putting away glasses and wiping the counter. I never did get to order. Just finished dinner. It was very good.
I hate to do this but I wanted to send a message, if it's not broken don't fix it. This was my favorite Mexican Restaurant because of the food and the staff. The staff is still wonderful but they have changed cooks and recipes. The cabbage salsa is not anywhere near what it used to be. The biggest offense is they changed the Carne Asada. We have been going here for several years and it has always been my favorite. They have gradually been reducing the size of the meat you get and now they have changed the recipe all together. The last 3 times I ordered this, I have decided I just can't do it anymore. The overwhelming taste of lime is a major turn off, so much so this dish has been removed from my will order and probably the restaurant as well.
The menu has changed significantly since my last visit. They used to have a lunch special where you could order a single-item entrée, but that option seems to be gone now. Although three other tables were occupied during my visit, as soon as I walked in, there was no enticing aroma of food being cooked. The prices are reasonable and the portion sizes are generous—$13.99 for an entrée—but unfortunately, the food lacked flavor. I ordered the chicken rings tacos (three tacos), which were generously filled with shredded chicken, tomatoes, and slaw. However, the rice was very dry and the beans were unremarkable. I also tried the carnitas taco entrée, which similarly had no flavor. The double-wrapped tacos were packed, but again, the taste was lacking, even with the addition of salsa. On a positive note, the service was good. If they were to bring back the original menu and chefs, I would definitely consider returning. I’m glad they have reopened, but I hope for improvement in the future.
I would almost give this restaurant negative stars for the food. My daughter’s chimichanga was more like a bland burrito—certainly not crispy at all. Both my wife's and my chimichangas were very disappointing. The carnitas were as dry as can be, and I ended up pouring an entire container of salsa over mine just to add some flavor. We requested extra crispy, but what we received was just mildly crispy. The prices were quite high, with the chimichanga costing $15.99 for such mediocre quality. I’m giving it 1 star overall because while the food was worth -4 stars, the service definitely deserves 5 stars.
