Cook Out - Carrollton

From the moment we arrived, it was clear that this restaurant had some operational issues. The staff seemed overwhelmed and lacking proper guidance. We waited around six minutes before our order was taken. The employee was very friendly, which prevented me from giving a lower rating. I ordered a Big Double, and I’ve seen larger beef patties in kids' meals. It was really disappointing given CookOut's reputation. Moreover, the patties were burnt and dry. My wife ordered hot dogs with chili, but the chili was so dark that it must’ve been quite old. She didn’t even want to eat or save her second hot dog; she just threw it away. There was also a bench with a handwritten sign telling customers not to sit because it wasn't secured properly. Clearly, this is not a place I plan to return to. The ownership and management fall far below any reasonable standard of quality service that I can appreciate.

We pulled over, and I went inside to speak with the cashiers at the front, along with what I assume was a manager. They reacted dismissively when I mentioned that we had ordered a tray. The cashier refunded me the two dollars and handed me the food, but she didn’t seem to have any experience in customer service. Having worked at Cook Out myself, I know how the trays should be done. You need to improve your service and consider hiring staff with better customer service skills.

I ordered onion rings, and they were quite good—fresh and hot, possibly the best I've had from a fast-casual place. However, I can't shake the fact that I paid $1.99 for just four onion rings. I definitely won't be ordering them again.

It was just average. The regular-sized burger had a patty that was significantly smaller than the bun. The onion rings were similar to those at Burger King—not great. The sweet tea was a bit too sweet for my taste. However, the corn dog was quite enjoyable.

I ordered the Cajun chicken sandwich, Cajun fries, and cheese curds, along with a Cheerwine. This meal has quickly become my favorite choice and stands out among all fast food options! I absolutely love Cookout!
