Contribuiți la feedbackJust back in Co Down after four days in the Carigaline Court Hotel Could not rate it high enough Staff first class from the minute you arrive till you check out Many thanks Carmel and Dolores Looking forward to our next visit
We eat here quite often and really enjoy the food. I don't think we've ever had a complaint. The lunch menu is great, the scones are delicious and the dinner menu has something for everyone. The carvery is our favourite choice here, the variety of meats, vegetables and potatoes on offer is fab and the gravies sauces are always tasty.
I have visited the Carrigaline Court Hotel with work colleagues on a number of occasions. This visit, I spent 4 nights, ate in the hotel 's Collins Bar on nights 1 2. The evening of the third, unbeknownst to me, I must have ordered the 'gastro-enteritis special. ' I laughed and joked, as usual with my dining companions, oblivious to the potency of the bacteria laden fayre presented to me that night, I retired to my room whereupon, the full horror of the assault on my digestive system was unleashed, with spite, in the most vengeful manner imaginable. The following morning, I was late rising. My aching internals and destroyed appetite meant I missed breakfast. In fact, I ate nothing for the following 72 hours. I complained, in vain. The managements response was, We 've checked the kitchen and all the food in that meal was within date. No apology, nothing. I 'd eaten nothing, other than the hotel 's breakfast and evening meal, for the duration of my time in Ireland. Another grouse is, I 'd pre-booked and paid for bed breakfast. Despite missing the last two breakfasts, no refund for the missed meals was forthcoming. I 've stayed at this hotel, maybe 32 nights over the last few years. Needless to say, I will look elsewhere in future.
A friend of mine and myself went into the bar in the hotel for something to eat. It was Saturday 20th of May 2023 circa 7.30pm. I ordered a beef burger €19.95 and my friend ordered a chicken burger €21.95. Total €41.90 effectively for 2 x burgers which was a complete overcharge. I don't mind paying a little extra if the food is good but on this occasion it was horrible. I ate only 3 or 4 chips as there was a horrible smell of stale fat/oil from them. The beef burger (2 x 4 oz patties) was burnt to a crisp and i feel myself it was reheated. The beef burger was on the plate along with a basket of chips, and a very very small ramekin half full with coleslaw. No salad of any kind. In fairness €19.95 it was totally unacceptable. The same applied to my friends chicken burger. She did not eat the chips either. To be fair pre covid, I often went there for carvery lunch which as always top class. We left feeling very disappointed at the level the bar has stooped to. My one regret is that we did not complain at the time which was stupid of us. The Irish are a bit like that but from now on I certainly will should the need arise. I certainly will not be back for food given that experience.
I have been here many times as I'm local. To be fair the carvery is great. The last few times service and the bar menu are usually good. Not tonight (23rd Jan) . Service is very poor and the quality of the food is terrible. Five of us ordered but only one of us found it satisfactory. The other four are really disappointed.I will say you have a senior member of staff that is always fantastic and he provides great service everytime we are here. He is exceptional. You need to improve service with junior staff and the food quality.
