Contribuiți la feedbackThis is hands down the best place to stay in Carpinteria! It is so convenient to town and the beach. It's a short walk or an even shorter drive. During the summer the hotel is full but there's always parking space (not a ton of extra but always enough . The rooms are slightly below the average Holiday Inn Express, meaning they will need updating soon, but the rooms are also quite a bit larger than an average HIE with 2 queen beds an a pullout sofa sleeper. At times, some employee's at the front desk are less than warm; at times the rooms aren't fully cleaned (e.g. lots of hair in the tub; sofa bed sheets don't appear to be clean, etc. . We stay here at least once a year and plan on returning.Beautiful landscaping and parking lots are always clean.Nearby activities: short easy walk to downtown and the beach, Carp Bluffs is nearby and is especially nice at sunset time (or, during breeding season in the Spring .Walkability: easy walk to downtown and the beach; you can explore and enjoy Carp
Loved the breakfast with the patio. Sausage and plain omelette and usual continental stuff. Rooms with fridge with freezer and microwave. Nice linens. Dove soap in the shower. Conveniently close to the freeway on ramp. Others may complain about this but I didn't hear the noise of the traffic, outside or inside.Rooms: 5/5
Loved this place. I would definitely go back. Breakfast was amazing ? it was a full free breakfast with everything you could possibly imagine!Nice pool not over 5 ft)Rooms clean and staff was so friendly and helpful. In walking distance to shops and restaurants or a quick 5 to 10 min drive.Plenty of free parking and a small fitness room.
I had the unfortunate experience of staying just one night at the Holiday Inn Express Suites Carpinteria and I can confidently say I will not be returning.Firstly, there were major security issues for female travelers, which made me feel extremely uneasy. Not to mention, the supposed non-smoking hotel was a complete joke as the smoke from outside traveled right into the rooms through the side exit door where people were smoking. As if that wasn't enough, the slamming exit door made it impossible to sleep through the night due to the loud noises.I was also concerned about my safety since the window in my room didn't lock, had no screen, and had nothing blocking anyone from coming right up to it and opening it. I had to use hangers and other devices to block the window from opening. The broken TV and constantly running toilet didn't add any value to my stay, but what really terrified me was the large peep hole that allowed anyone to see everything from outside my door. And to make matters worse, the curtains in my room didn't even close all the way, which made me feel like I was in a fishbowl.I travel with extra items to help keep my room secure but didn’t have enough to make sure I felt safe during this particular stay. I am thankful there were extra hangers to use!Lastly, to top off my terrible experience, there were cobwebs everywhere and spiders crawling around the room.I would highly recommend avoiding room 100 or 101 unless you enjoy sleeping with one eye open. This hotel stay was not worth the $300 for one might money and left me feeling extremely vulnerable and disappointed.
Spent Friday and Saturday night here last week 7/7/23-7/9/23). For the price $329 on Friday and $379 on Saturday) this hotel is pretty bad. The floor in our room was incredibly dirty. After showering and walking to the bed the bottom of our feet were black. When we checked in the Do Not Disturb sign was in the bathroom trash can and the bathroom counter had clearly not been cleaned. The blackout draperies in the room were almost inoperable and took way too much effort to close at night. The hotel is in need of a complete renovation. The pool was clean and enjoyable, but both times we used the pool the clean towel stands were empty. The staff was friendly enough and the free breakfast is about what you 'd expect, nothing special but it was good enough. If it was cheaper it would have been easier to stomach the shortcomings, but for nearly $900 for two nights even one star might be a stretch.
