Contribuiți la feedbackOnce seated, the service picked up, and I was able to order my usual coffee and a blueberry scone. The coffee was hot and rich, and while my scone was slightly dry, it was still delicious, packed with blueberries and topped with sugar crystals. My wife opted for the Vanilla Bean Tahitian French Toast, which she added bananas to. It was served with Chantilly cream, and she absolutely loved it! The thick French toast was perfectly griddled with a light, fluffy egg batter, and the Chantilly cream and bananas elevated it to another level of deliciousness. I tried the Monterey Omelette, which was fluffy and filled with slices of poblano peppers, savory bacon, sautéed spinach, and a generous amount of gooey white cheddar cheese. It was an excellent omelette, complemented by the O'Brien potatoes, which were served in large, golden-brown chunks—crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. I also requested strawberry jam, and our server brought me a mini Bonne Maman jar, which was a delightful upgrade from the typical offerings at most breakfast spots. We dined on the patio, shaded by fiberglass panels, and enjoyed a lovely view of palm trees, which added a touch of beauty to what would otherwise have been a dull parking lot. Overall, we had great food and a nice ambience, despite a slight delay in service at Shorehouse Kitchen in Carlsbad.
Bustling brunch hotspot in the heart of the Carlsbad Village. The patio is huge, but then wait can be as well! Be sure to join the Yelp wait list before arriving, especially after 930 am on weekends. It's all worth it though. The menu is huge, everyone liked their food, and they have many different coffees, coffee cocktails, and mimosas to choose from. Highly recommended! Street parking is your best bet, unless you're lucky and there's a spot in the lot right next to the restaurant.
**Food - 2 Stars** - **Crispy Parmesan Risotto and Honey-Cured Bacon Eggs Benedict**: This was just okay. It was quite dry and lacked flavor. - **Angus Short Rib and Hash Brown Potato Cakes**: I was eager to try the short rib given the glowing reviews, but I was left disappointed. The short rib was very dry and not tender at all. The hash browns were good, however. - **Caramelized Tahitian Vanilla Bean French Toast**: This dish was enjoyable and the only one I really liked. - **Salmon, Shaved Fennel, and Burrata Salad**: I was disappointed to find that this resembled a cafeteria dish. The romaine lettuce looked sad and old, and the rest of the components were quite dry as well. **Service - 4 Stars** The service was decent, though it took longer than expected to receive our food and drinks. It's convenient to be added to the waitlist through the Yelp app, but we still waited 25 minutes after checking in. **Ambiance - 5 Stars** The ambiance was great, especially in the indoor area or patio seating (I would recommend avoiding the bench seating in the back). The tables were a bit cramped, but overall, it created a nice beach brunch vibe. **Bottom Line** While the service and ambiance were commendable, I was very disappointed by the food. I’m at a loss as to why this place has a rating of 4.5 stars.
LOWEN country house!!! Low key diamond in the rough. The waiter we had was so nice and helpful. He gave us food recommendations and explained what was popular. I had the crispy Risotto eggs Benedict. The dish was so good the risotto was perfectly cooked, well balanced in taste. The Risotto had exactly the right amount of crispy, this was an interesting takeover of both the Risotto and Benedikt. The Benedict was cooked so well with the egg yolk and warm. Must try the dish. The **** Mary was made to perfection with the right amount of spice. The tables, the dining area and the bathrooms were very clean. It's a hidden jewel and one that deserves a try. The place was crowded, but the staff still managed to manage the crowd with a smile and without delays in service. I will go back many times!!!
I will update my review because, we will, this place is really good. Good food, good service, good ambience. You really can't ask for more. From January 2022: Good value menu. Bar was a bit muddled when we went to brunch on Sunday and only half when our party, when six got their drinks orders, but the house was the three we got. Coffee wasn't great, though I know the coffee company is doing good work. A strange thing, but I ordered turkey sausage (very good), but they had no steak sauce when I asked. I always have steak sauce on my sausage. Not big, but thought I'd mention it. otherwise a very pleasant experience; I will definitely visit again.
