Alejandro's Mexican Food - Carlsbad

This restaurant only accepts cash, so be prepared! I think there’s an ATM inside. The menu features classic San Diego Mexican food with generous portions, and a drive-thru that feels almost essential. I prefer using the drive-thru since the place feels a bit small. The prices are very reasonable, and the staff is great—they even filled up my reusable water bottle for me and were very friendly, even when I adjusted my order at the window. (Apologies for the change!) If you're hungry, this spot is definitely worth a visit.

This restaurant consistently serves fresh, homemade meals. The chefs are locals who embody the community spirit of Carlsbad, a beach town where many families have lived for two to three generations in the same homes. They only accept cash and provide quick service. Today, I enjoyed the #14 combo plate, which included ham, eggs, salsa, cheese, Spanish rice, refried pinto beans, and two large flour tortillas—all for around $8! The portions were generous, the food was cooked perfectly, and it was absolutely delicious!

The food is quite good and consistently tasty. Prices are affordable, and although the staff seems a bit stretched thin, they've always been polite. They are also generous with their hot sauce. The restaurant could use some cleaning, but you can't expect too much for the price.
