Uncle Sams Chinese Takeaway - Carindale

If I could give it a 0 I would. I was the biggest fan of this place when I lived in the area and decided after about a while of not buying from here I would go out of my way to go back. I was so upset when I received my usual order and it not being what it used to be. I think it is under new ownership as it was different staff and it completely lacked everything that I remember. My seafood laksa was flavorless, powdery and had 2 prawns, 1 tiny piece of fish, 2 pieces of over cooked calamari and 5 pieces of over cooked broccoli. I couldn't even eat it. I am heart broken that a place that was once so good has rapidly declined. DO NOT RECOMMEND!!!!

Absolutely disgusting. the rice was uncooked and lacked anything other than rice. not what a fried rice is supposed to be. service was apalling. honey chicken seemed as though it was just bits of batter with a drizzle of honey. i failed to find any meat.

Not impressed by this place. Chicken cashew was bland and the friend rice was basically just rice a couple of peas and two prawns. Disappointed.

Tried this place for the first time last night and it was the best chinese I have ever tasted. There, I called it. Best Chinese take away in Brisbane. They ticked every box. You know how some places do some things well but fall short on other things, not this place! Firstly, we phoned in our order and was told it would take 10 minutes. So fast, especially for how much we ordered (3 dishes and a large fried rice). We turned up exactly 10 minutes after and were greeted by a lovely lady and our food was already waiting. They even gave us a free bag of prawn chips! Yes, those things are fairly standard at most local chinese takeaways (you'd be surprised how many aren't like that though) but when we got home, everything we ordered tasted amazing. I'm so used to the bland chinese food you get sometimes but all of the dishes were so full of flavour. I was actually a little bit surprised considering how quick the food came out. One thing to note, I love salty food. If you're turned off by things with high sodium, I predict that you probably wouldn't like this place. That's not to say that all the food was really salty, I'm just saying the foods that typically have a bit of salt was enhanced if that makes sense. This place really reminds me of the old school chinese we used to get growing up :)
