It was just a bit after the Christmas period, and just the day before heading off to the coast to see my parents, my big sister was around to organising dinner. She has been a fan of online coupons, and another bit of technology she has taken well to is sites such as MenuMate. These are bigger in her current residency of England than in Australia, and she uses them a lot over there. This combined a number of her favourite aspects with buying meals: it exuded value, had a significant saving from the general price, she was able to organise and micro-manage the details plus an eye was able to be put on the total price. Through this, as much for the most cost-efficient method was possible - my big sister in a nutshell. So with the orders placed, and some rice put into the cooker, it was simply the waiting game. Because the food was done via delivery, I am unable to give a description or critique about the restaurant's interior or location. Just as much, it can be assumed that about as much will be able to be given in terms of the service. That is more a yes than a no, but credit will be given where it is can be due without exception. It has a similar structure to online ordering as the most recent place I've reviewed before here, where after placing the order and everything a message is sent to your phone indicating the estimated time of arrival. Well, to indicate how quick the delivery service was, the food was here are good 20 minutes before the message mentioned - now that is certainly what I would call efficiency. Heck, when it comes to organising anything with them online - they are killing it as we speak. More or less, Right on Thai has what you would expect from a casual Thai restaurant. It has all the expected entrees to begin with, it has the usual (albeit short) lots of soup, as well as the salads, and the expected range of curries. Additionally, there are the stir fries, and the noodle dishes with the usual suspects, and there are separate sections for duck and seafood dishes. 90% of it is familiar fare to Thai aficionados. When it comes to ordering and/or cooking Thai food, as far as my family goes it is not optional for massamum curry to be ordered having it be included each time. This time was no exception. Heck, with such an effective combination of slow-cooked, tender beef, potatoes, onion and a rich peanut sauce who is one to complain? After so many times of describing how it works, it gets a bit repetitive but nevertheless this proved again that it was so good. The sauce is what makes the difference, being just the right consistency thickness, and it infuses the flavour of the beef so well. The beef itself was tasty and a perfect cut for this curry, plus the big bits of potato were soft and hot. Adding onto the nutty flavour, one of my favourite kinds, completes this meal. This meal is going to be ordered plenty of more times in the future. That curry is only one classic among a good range of classics. Whether it is red or green (green was the choice), it is hard to go past the two base curries especially with chicken. The spicy, though not "Thai hot" levels, paste mixed with some fresh vegetables and tender chicken make for one of the easiest and most palatable dishes around - the taste of it is distinctly itself and will always have a place among many people's favourite dishes. Opting to go a bit fresh, there was the chili and basil stir fry with tofu. Both of these strong flavours were mixed through with green beans, capsicums, bamboo shoots and mushroom with a lot of noodles. the bits of tofu were substantial squares, and had infused all the flavours from the sauce and the herbs - bland this was not, a healthier option definitely. The tofu was soft, had a good skin on it and the vegetables were crunchy. The dish that I ordered was a "Ka Na Moo Krob". This stir fry dish is based off of oyster sauce, and is mixed through with kai lan and crispy pork. It was delicious, something quite different and the pork part of it was especially delicious and the kai lan - a vegetable similar to broccoli - absorbed the oyster sauce very well. For something a little out of the ordinary, it is worth opting for this - and that is one reason I went for it. So all up, this was a really good meal. Also to go on the side with the curries, an order of roti was ordered. Two of these were ordered, and they were good. As always, hot, soft, easy to rip apart, a good amount of butter infused into the mixture and works best as a mop up to curry sauce. No matter what, when it comes to roti (or naan, or something similar as such) there will always be some space on my plate because of its efficiency in getting the last dregs. Thai food has always been a reliable cuisine. I don't think that I have been to a Thai place that I would call out and out *bad*, though once in a while there has been a place that has well surpassed the standards set, and even set new precedents. At least for the former statement, Right on Thai is able to rest around there. The food was par excellence, being fresh, fully flavoured and the portions given were substantial even among three people. I can bet that being in the actual place, they will score very well on the omitted aspects making for a potentially better meal.
