Piefection - Carindale

Had the beef, Guinness and mushroom, but, no mushroom, very little beef and mostly carrot. Taste was very bland. I don't recommend these pies at all.

My go-to pie shop. Delicious. They have a great selection of flavours and I have tried a few at the Mt Gravatt location - all have been great. Today I went for a simple Wagyu Beef with 150 Lashes Pale Ale. I love the filling in these pies. Often you have a pie that is full of gelatinous gravy speckled with small bits of mince. Or you have the chunky meat pies that have oversized chunks in plain gelatinous gravy. This filling had the large chunks of smoky beef and the gravy was full of pulled meat. Flavour was delicious but not too rich. Pastry is flaky and if I am trying to find a fault, I might say it could be crisper. However, I like it just the way it is. So glad I have this place so close to home!

Lately, I could not wipe away the bad pie experience that I had at Ray so I went to the Piefection near the Coorparoo Rail station to refresh my pie journey. Bingo! I got it. Had been to its sibling at Mt Gravatt and was surprised by the products there and it is even better here. I was confirmed by the chef that all the pies are made at this spot and I could see the large pie preparation area at the back of the shop front. Although there is no fancy shop fit, the food is the most important to me. I chose the Jack Daniels & BBQ Pork Rib Pie. Wow! Look at the top pastry which pop up and started to kick-start my appetite. First bite was full of pull-pork in my mouth. Look at the content which was so generous that was full of pieces of mouth-melting pulled pork. I urge all the foodies (pie-lovers) to give it a go! You would not be let down by them.....

Easily the best sausage rolls and pies in Coorparoo. If you're looking for a unique pie, this is the place to go! The Jack Daniels BBQ pulled pork pie is a must try & my favourite pie on the menu. We also really enjoy the lamb and beef sausage rolls, the pastry is perfect - not too crisp and not too soggy, just right.

I have always driven past this place and have heard mixed reviews so I went to venture out to try out a pie. Asked for their most popular which was their Jack Daniel's BBQ Pork Rib pie. The whole pie was good. Just the right crisp and wasn't flopping everywhere or the pastry flying up your nostrils!! The meat was very tasty but lacked 'sauce'. I like my pies to be drowned in sauce but each to their own. It didn't give me the wow factor but I am confident there is a good pie in there so will come back and try the others!!!
