Passiontree Velvet Coolangatta

High tea here wasn't the most classy of affairs. For one thing, you are sitting in an exposed corridor of Carindale shopping centre. And the service and experience were all just a little disorganized and bumbling. We were told when we arrived and ordered high tea that they would "check to see if there were any high teas left".... what does that even mean? A bit alarming when you are expecting fresh food.The menu says you can order a cold drink instead of hot. But we were told when we ordered "no cold drinks today" due to an accident with the ice bucket. Hmm. Ok. Hot drinks it was. So the high tea tier came out,

I recently visited here with my mum for high tea for her birthday on a Saturday morning. The website lets you make bookings but its really not needed unless its mothers day or something. We ordered the Duchess high tea and had 4 types of finger sandwiches - Salmon, cucumber, ham and egg the bread was a bit dry but the fillings were good. We them got 2 warm scones with heaps of Jam and cream which were amazing then a selection of 4 different cakes. A chocolate and caramel tart, white chocolate and raspberry cheesecake/jelly thing, a chocolate cake with gnash roll thing and chocolate and vanilla slice. it came with any drink as well, i got a hot mocha and it was amazing! like drinking pure chocolate but not to sweet either and the temperature was perfect. Overall I would have to say one of the best high tea's I have ever had and at $34.50pp you cant go wrong for a morning out with your mum.There was so much food we didn't even finish it all and I was coming off a diet so I was HUNGRY! and I wasn't able to walk properly after.

The coffee at Passiontree is a beautiful blend. The staff are always friendly and attentive. Coffee is perfect every time! Toasted Sandwiches are also very nice! Love this cafe!

My sister is a big fan of the ice chai here. The cakes look super cute but a little on the dry side for my liking.It is a nice little place to relax from your shopping. Best to sit in the chairs by the window. They are so comfy I want to fall asleep.
