Ole Tapas Bar - Carindale

Spent an interesting evening at Ole recently. The service was good and the overall ambiance was welcoming and friendly, but the food was so disappointing. The paella was soggy and greasy, making a slopping noise when it hit the plate. It was also so salty and that flavour dominated at the expense of all others. It was also supposed to be a share plate - by the time a few now hungry friends had had a go at it there was not much left. The squid starter (tapas) was totally lacking in imagination. The mushroom tapas was swimming in a soup-like sauce and again disappointing in taste and effort. The bread to soak up the sauce was in very short supply - there were six of us! One piece per dish?? The meatball tapas was little better - I think the ones from Aldi taste better. So, all in all a disappointing and expensive experience which I won't be repeating

This is a nice spot to have lunch and watch the world go by. We found the service to be attentive and friendly. Whilst the wine by the glass options are nice, a few more Spanish wines by the glass would be a nice touch.

Had an amazing family lunch here for my partners birthday. Food, service and all round experience was amazing. Cant wait to come back!!! Try the lamb!!

Wonderful Dinner. So glad we booked as the place was buzzing! People waiting outside for tables always a good sign. Mixed tapas was a great choice to start our dining experience, the went on to have the slow cooked lamb, had the lamb at Ole in South Bank and I'm delighted to say Hawthorns was just as good. Stuffed olives were a treat. Wait staff extremely efficient and very friendly , and knew the menu well. Very reasonable prices. This is my new favourite

Have tried Ole at Southbank and enjoyed it, so a visit to the new restaurant on Hawthorne road was a given. Even though it was a cool and drizzly Wednesday evening, the place was already looking busy, and I'd definitely recommend booking ahead. The portions are plentiful and tasty-particularly potatas bravas, the mixed Spanish olives and the meatballs. Good vegetarian options too, my daughter devoured her tortilla . Shared a paella, great presentation and once again really tasty.Flamenco cocktail was also a hit, service was pleasant and efficient. Great value for money too. Ole was a big hit with our family and we give it 10/10!
