Contribuiți la feedbackHmmm. Fitout looks inviting and fresh however food was terrible. We started with the Cauliflower Skordalia. Which should have tasted like Roasted Cauli and Garlic. But it was not seasoned and was a white tasteless goo. One whole tablespoon of the stuff for 4 pieces of bread. Clearly no one tastes food before it goes out. My partner ordered the Chicken giros platter. The chicken was dried out and the dips looked store bought. I guess the Chips were ok! :) I ordered the Vegetarian Paella. It looked great when it arrived. However, first mouthful produced a squishy mess of overcooked rice bathed in an undercooked tomato sauce. Left the meal behind after one taste. Now, I understand it's tough to run a business and costs are a concern, but when no passion or care is taken when preparing meals and meal prep is your core business, kinda makes you wonder. Hope the owners take this on board and implement a system which monitors food consistency and quality. Unfortunately, slim pickings for foodies on Oxford st. :(

We went to Ambrosia and Co for afternoon tea last week. I don’t know what I was expecting, but I was kind of disappointed. We spent about ten minutes walking around Oxford Street trying to figure out where to eat, which wasn’t really a problem because it’s a lovely area with a lot of shops and cafes, but I kind of wish we’d gone somewhere else to eat. The staff weren’t overly friendly but were by no means rude or impolite either. The interior of the café was very nice, and the artwork on the back wall was especially enjoyable to look at. I ordered an iced chocolate and a chocolate cannoli. The iced chocolate was better than a lot of others I’ve had, but it wasn’t anything special. The desserts —slices, cakes, and little sweet treats— are kept in a clear glass section at the front of the shop, and I was surprised by how little they had, considering it was afternoon tea time and there were quite a few people already dining. I’d never had a cannoli before and wasn’t sure how it was supposed to taste. I think the pastry was way too tough, though. Our table wasn’t provided with cutlery for some reason, but even when I did get access to a fork, I had to pretty much bash it against the cannoli to break even a small piece off. In the end I resorted to eating with my hands, which I don’t feel is such a good look at a fancy restaurant. I also think there was too much custard and not enough pastry. My cousin got the vegan slice, which looked like a mixture of oats, fruit, and nuts that anyone could whip up at home. It honestly didn’t look very appetising and it apparently didn’t taste too good, either. We were not provided with napkins for our table, even though every other table had them, so the service wasn’t too great. Overall, at a café with such high prices, I’d expect to get what I paid for, and I just didn’t.

I have just come back from lunch (which we didn't eat) at what looked like a new and exciting café.We ordered a souva to share. When the waitress came to give us our plates she gave me one with a chip. When the meal arrived I asked if she could cut it in half as we were sharing (she knew this when we placed the order). She said that they don't do that. I then asked for another plate as the one she had given me had a big chip out of it. She then threw the plate onto the next table and walked off. Two ladies sitting near us said how rude her behavior was. When she returned with the plate I said to her that she was very rude in throwing the plate down and that it was totally unnecessary. She looked at me "in a snarling tone" and walked off. We then walked out without having lunch and said to the guy at the bar that we had left our uneaten lunch on the table and the drinks that we had make up for her very poor immature (although she was about 40- old enough to know better) attitude. Do yourself a favour - don't go there.
