I am inclined to concur with the reviewer “PandPfromNY” re lack of attendance to tourists and preferential attendance to Argentineans. It has nothing to do with prejudice other than language barrier. The majority of the waiters/waitresses in Argentina find it easier to serve and gravitate...towards customers who converse in the local dialect than having to struggle with customers who have much less in common. Apologies aside, this restaurant serves excellent seafood and in gracious servings. It’s lower standing among the top restaurants in Pinamar might have to do with that it is family owned, family run and the personnel that run the business speak strictly Spanish. Their other option would have been to hire bilingual waiters/waitresses, submissively appeal to tourists and in the process, sadly compromise on quality to offset overhead.
Terrible food; instead of fish with a sauce, they serve sauce with some fish. Very small part of the fish that together with a potato, napx cold. Never again.
My wife and I have recently eaten there. We shared fried Calamares (rabas) as starters, very fresh and generous, with chips. I then had Lenguado, with an extra white sauce with Verdeo (zagged green onion), absolutely delicious. A rustic atmosphere, chairs with straw seats and back. The weather was not good all weekend, which meant that not many people were around, so the restaurant was not busy. Friendly service. External seat area. I would imagine it would be very busy in the summer months. Very recommended.
We came here on the basis of the reviews and they did not disappoint. The seafood/fish derées were excellent. The Calamari Appetizer for which we had to die! Unfortunately we arrived late on a Saturday evening, 9:00 a.m., so the place was packed. If you want a table without waiting, go early. That said, because it was so busy, the service was at best marginal. And they also fought with our English/Spanish language barrier. The language problem is to be expected, but they could not handle the rush for the service. That said eating, especially seafood, was very good. And good price!
