Hungry Bear Diner - Cariboo G

The food is great we were regular customers n we were shocked when we looked at the menu the prices were incredibly so high we ended up leaving, its too bad because we had a lot of our friends come up from the coast and we will not be back, they cant afford to bring their families anymore. It is so sad .

I recently stopped at this diner for a lunch stop. I was very impressed with the home cooking and could not possibly leave hungry. I ha one of the best burgers with fries I've ever had. The staff were friendly and the restaurant was clean. I think I'll make it my new lunch stop when traveling south from Prince George.

This restaurant caters to truckers and the portions reflect that. Plentiful and tasty food. Lots of choices. The Friday night Fish and Chip special is excellent. The only issue seems to be with the wait for your food. Too long, especially if you are travelling and want to get back on the road.The atmosphere is cheerful and the surroundings are clean. Mid range in price but good value for your money. If you are not a big eater sharing would be an option or they cheerfully provide take out containers for your leftovers.

I think I know why this is called the Hungry Bear, because by the time you get your food, you are starving. We went to this place Saturday April 9th 2016. We waited quite a bit to even get a coffee. But an hour had gone by and we still had not received our meal. We seen other people in the restaurant who had been there before us, their meals were just coming out after we had been there for about an hour, meals were not served to all at one table at same time, the one table had about 8 people at it, and when their food was brought out, as I said two got food, and about five minutes later the rest got their food. But after an hour of sitting there, and seeing that others who were there way ahead of us, were just being served we figured we would be another hour before we got our. So we left and told them we were not impressed, and did not pay for our coffee. We went down the road to another cafe, got way better service. That is another review.
