I visited with a friend for coffee followed by a lunch of broccholi soup with sourdough bread and a delicious slice of lemon and blueberry cake....The food was beautifully served in colourful china on an embroidered tablecloth and it was nice to be spoiled. The atmosphere was quiet and relaxing and we were able to catch up without being rushed. Will visit again when I am next in Canton and would recommend to friends.
Having just had a horrible experience at the local library, I found myself desperate for somewhere to feel calm and drink tea...low and behold, The Apothecary'. When I first went in, I was the only person there and it was so quiet; a little eery....I had a green tea with lemon and loved the little tea pot and tea cup. The cakes looked very tempting too. After a while, more people came in but everyone was speaking quietly like they were a bit afraid of causing too much noise. This picked up a bit after the person working remembered to put some music on for a bit of atmosphere. Overall a good experience that I would recommend to others.
We had a lovely afternoon tea at the Apothecary. Tasty vegetarian sandwiches, beautiful mini cakes, wonderful meringues and brilliant scones with plenty of clotted cream and jam, all served on vintage china. My wife especially liked the Grannies Garden fruit tea, very tasty. Great ambience...with cool decor and great music, nothing was too much trouble for Michele, really made my wife’s birthday special with great little touches. Thanks all for a lovely afternoon and very full tummies. We look forward to visiting again.
First visit to the tea room today but definitely won’t be the last, great selection of savoury and cake, including vegan. Quirky atmosphere with a warm welcome. Really enjoyed our food and drinks looking forward to trying an afternoon tea. Opportunities to sit inside or...out in a lovely garden area. Thank you
I recently organised through Michelle who works at The Apothecary for my Nan and her friend to go for Afternoon Tea there. What a pleasant experience, and I didn't even attend! From the initial inquiry, to the day after they attended Michelle was very prompt...with her responses to my emails, and absolutely nothing was too much trouble! I explained to Michelle that my Nan's friend wasn't very steady on her feet and couldn't walk far, so Michelle had gone to measure how high the front step to the Tea Room was, and sent pictures of the room which is easily accessible and looked very quaint and how you would expect a tea room to look. I absolutely cannot fault the effort Michelle went to making this an easy process for me, and an enjoyable day out for my Nan and her friend. The day after they had been I had an email from Michelle telling me how nice it was to have met them both and she hoped they had a lovely time which I am beyond sure they did. I will be seeing my Nan to hear all about it tonight! The prices are completely reasonable for an afternoon tea and all the sandwiches and cakes look lovely with quite a few traditional welsh options which is great to see! It is amazing to know that there are still people out there that give to the customers that walk through the door, and don't just treat it like a job and go home. It is clear that Michelle and the team with her are people people and go out of their way to ensure you enjoy yourselves and get a great service with them. Would highly recommend visiting here, even if it is just for a quick comfortable cup of coffee and a chat. Thank you again for making my Nan's day so special!
