I used to visit this restaurant frequently and never had any complaints. However, on my latest visit, the grill was broken. Despite this, we ordered a Gammon and a char-grilled chicken breast. Initially, I was considering leaving as I prefer grilled food and was unsure about having it cooked in a frying pan. The staff member taking my order convinced me to stay and said it could be done. I asked for my chicken to be well-cooked, but it came back pale and not to my liking. Additionally, I was disappointed by the serving of coleslaw in tiny egg cup bowls, as I felt a regular bowl would have been more appropriate. The prices for the meals were also quite expensive and we didn't feel like we got value for money. I won't be visiting again as the food didn't meet my expectations and I prefer flame-grilled dishes. The Gammon portion was also very small, and the total bill for two meals and two drinks came to £27.60. Overall, I was not satisfied with the experience and won't be returning.
I would advise against going to this restaurant with a large group as we were refused entry. We were a group of 12 guys and the bouncers claimed we were too drunk, even though we had just arrived in Wales. There seems to be no valid reason for this and it could possibly be because we were not women.
You can enjoy a beer at O'Neilss, but it's best to avoid the food. We ordered three tapas for $13 and they were all terrible. The squid was old and cooked in old oil, giving it a bad flavor. The outdoor seating is nice and the service is good, but I suggest skipping the food here.
