Mowglis - Cardiff

This was the worst meal I have ever had. We arrived at 7pm for our 9pm reservation, and the restaurant was packed with diners and a large number of takeout orders. Our orders were taken promptly and our starters arrived, but the onion bhaji, while tasty, was dry and overcooked. When I mentioned this to the waiter, he argued that they should be dry, but not so dry that they were impossible to chew. We waited a long time for our plates to be cleared and for our main dishes to arrive, which were cold by the time they finally came out (2 hours and 20 minutes after we arrived). The curries looked like they had been reheated in a microwave and did not taste fresh, with the meat being dry and overcooked. At this point, we asked to speak to a manager who was unable to resolve the issues and offered only apologies. We noticed that other tables seemed to be served faster, possibly because they were regular customers. Needless to say, we will not be returning to this restaurant. Avoid at all costs.

Poor service. the personal did not seem to care. they could not handle the busy restaurant and the takeaways. it took 40 minutes to get order. an hour and 20 minutes for starters that dry and everything else than appetit. booked for 7 clock, net came at 9.20!... and it is not worth waiting for it. meat was dry and garnel were hard. has taken 50% off the bill, but will never come back or recommend. they feel upset that we didn't just go after the starters.

Been using Mowglis Whitchurch for some time to catch up with a friend. Last visit they brought 4 instead of 2 poppadoms, despite making number clear and only ONE main when we made it clear we were having same dish! Previous visit they doubled and...charged for soft drinks. I ordered takeaway for family and despite it sitting on back bar, had to ask THREE people for the food I'd paid for. Also been extremely slow sorting bill. Gone back to the India Gate since won't be trying Mowglis Whitchurch again! If I could submit zero stars I would!!!

Visited for the first time after a friend recommendation and it didn't disappoint. Every dish we had was served on time including delicious melt in mouth meats perfectly spiced rice and fresh chutneys and sauces. So now the but.... My friends advice which I totally...ignored was not to order too much as the portions are very generous, and he was right. However he did recommend taking a doggy bag home for any leftovers to avoid any waste. We had only eaten 1/2 of the stunning meat Biriani so asked for the doggy bag. We opened the containers when we got home and all the melt in the mouth meat we were looking forward to had been removed just leaving a trays of rice! Will visit again but will be checking the doggy bag!

Eaten here previously and food very good. Saturday night and customer service non existent bums on seats. Staff not interested or attentive. After sitting around for 30 minutes we got up and left. Drove across town and enjoying a splendid meal and fabulous service. I...would not recommend Mowgli’s if you want a pleasant experience!!
