Contribuiți la feedbackHad such a nice time hanging on the outdoor patio (dog friendly) for live music on a Friday, we came back the next morning for brunch. Great atmosphere and service, and lots of outdoor seating. Beautiful decor inside. Had a delicious cocktail. Brunch was also fantastic.
Everything on their menu is To. Die. For. A delightful culinary experience for those who would appreciate it. The menu changes seasonally and highlights local meats and produce. Prices are on the higher end and portions small so we typically go for special occasions when seeking great quality. For two, order one thing from every course and share! The patios are wonderful in the summer evenings. Bar is good too.
So we went to try this because it 's newer place in town. Had good expectations based on reading the menu and higher prices. The meal started off well with good cocktails and the mussels and frites were delicious and a good portion size considering it 's $26 appetizer. However we asked for bread, they charged $8 for bread! Then came the pasta, it couldn 't come on a smaller plate! $12 for a tea cup plate portion, I will admit the house made pasta was good however the over cooked broccoli overwhelmed the dish. Moving on to the Smoked Trout, we almost moved on because it took sooooo long for them to serve it. So, the smoked trout on the Large plate section of menu was so small I literally ate it in one bite. That $38 bite of fish was tasty but not worth the price. I wish I was exaggerating about everything but we left feeling hungry and disappointed. There were a few good hits but too many misses hence the 1 star review. I 'd like to give them a second chance but... well you do the math.
I actually didn't get to stay at The Way Home, but I want to write a review to express my gratitude for the flexibility and kindness that Jess showed me when I almost stayed there. She offered to pick me up from the airport when I realized my rental car plan was no longer an option. My flight was then delayed a day, so I asked Jess if they could refund some of my reservation (which was at peak time during X-Games). She was very understanding and helpful and refunded me part of the charge. Thank you!
There are pluses such as friendly staff. The poutine is very good! Seating is not very comfortable, booth style or chairs with bouncy backs that offer no support. Pasta dish was oversalted. Has potential. Will try again. Prices on the higher end. Dinner menu has Aspen prices, higher than expected for this location.
