What an awesome place! The museum aspect of it was awesome and the food was so good. Definitely recommend the aged steak and/or the prime rib. If you like a good mule cocktail the lonestar came with fresh candied ginger. We will be thinking about this meal when we get back to the east coast. Thank you Cody for your excellent service as well as education about the history of SaddleRidge
The restaurant itself is EXCEPTIONAL. Getting to it is as difficult as it gets. It is worth the trouble. But clarity in directions should be better.
I’m sorry to have to write this as we’ve enjoyed SaddleRidge in years past, however our most recent experience was simply bad. Primary server was extremely busy, and checked on us infrequently. Others helping out did not offer any assistance other than to clear plates. I would have ordered at least another glass of wine if I had even been asked. I ordered the bison prime rib, a side of asparagus and the twice baked potatoes casserole. The bison and asparagus were so salty i could barely eat them; the twice baked potatoe was simply the same mashed potatoes that came with my son’s meal, with some cheese and bacon thrown in at what appeared to be 3x the cost. The meal was way over priced for bad food and terrible service. It’s a shame because the atmosphere at SaddleRidge is great. Crossing this one off the list as there are too many other great options in BC.
Not really sure what all of the hoopla is about. The steaks were fine but nothing outstanding. Ordered one rare and it came out at least medium. The buffalo prime rib was good. Did not care for the elk loin but that could easily be individual preference. All in all I didn’t feel it to be either cozy or grande. An odd mix that left all of us feeling like we were supposed to be getting a warm and hearty meal but were left feeling like the space didn’t cultivate a good vibe and the food was lack luster, especially given those prices. Nothing special. Very much preferred Beano’s Cabin or Splendido.
A beautiful space and outstanding food. The service was attentive without being cloying. A nice variety of options. Note that they specialize in game so dishes that are vegetarian are limited; however, my daughter (our vegetarian) had the gnocchi and it was excellent.
