Italian Village - Carbondale

It 's not mind blowing pizza. It 's been here forever and is atypical, but it 's worth the charm. If you opt for domino/hut/john instead, you 're responsible for the downfall of locality and community power. Shame on you, good liberal.

I love the pizza and hate the owner! There has been issues with wrong orders and under cooked pizza recently, but when done right the pizza is great. When I worked at Walgreens the owner would shop there all the time and I would Always Every Time Catch Him Scamming With Coupons!! It's Awful that a Local Businessman is a Con Artist!!

Entire building was really dirty. Dust was caked on multiple surfaces around our table and spider webs were hanging from the wall. Shrimp dish came out with severely under cooked shrimp and when brought to a worker's attention was told it was a known issue, but they put the food out anyway. Italian beef was basic and lacked any kind of seasoning. Lasagna dish looked like it was a child's portion. IV's used to be a really good restaurant with a really good atmosphere, but our party found ourselves discussing if it will even be around in a year or two with how bad it's gotten. Very disappointing all around. Hate to see a staple of Carbondale become a shell of what it once was. Would not recommend.

I no longer live in Southern Illinois. But when I come to visit my relatives I always come here. I am 70 years old and I remember coming here as a teenager with my friends! The pizza is still absolutely delicious and the salad bar is second to none! However the little young lady at the cash register could be a little more friendly and smile once in awhile. Not the best person to have at the cash register until she learns to be more customer-friendly. Just say'in.
