They messed up all 6 of our sandwiches, after taking forever to make them. Definitely choose to walk out if you see a bunch of just teenage boys working. They're more interested in talking to each other than making things right and quickly.
My family and I have patronized Erik’s since the 1970’s.Times have changed. In the last 3-5 years, we’ve found staff to be apathetic, unfriendly and sometimes rude.Additionally, the soups and chili are not made there; they are made by some restaurant supply chain. So what is the big back kitchen for? All the salad and sandwich ingredients are up front.Their chili used to be thick and rich, but now it’s been probably at least 25% diluted with extra sauce in place of beans and meat.Staff often forgets to supply crackers or toppings (cheese and onions for chili) all of which are supposed to come with soups and chili. The chicken pesto sandwich has been disappointing. Not hot, and some of the chicken had straw-like texture. Weird. Like it wasn’t chicken at all.I presume the staff is unhappy, perhaps under paid. That’s how it seems, anyway. I know Covid was difficult for restaurants, so we do try to take that into consideration.
I've heard the argument that designing your own sandwich IE subway/togos is ideal but in my opinion let the restaurant perfect the sandwiches they want to serve and deliver on their best foot. That's what Eric's deli cafe is. Selection is limited to their best which is great for those moments of decision paralysis.I'd recommend the raging bull but everything I've tried has been good at a minimum
