What a beautiful place! The setting at Tobago’s is breathtaking. You can eat right where the waves are crashing and the seagulls are sitting. The service is impeccable served by amazing, friendly and genuine people wanting you to have a good time. The food is good too and they have some interesting ideas on the menu.
Saturday Supper Club<br/ <br/ This was my second visit to a Radisson Supper Club event, and to be honest the first event I attended didn’t really live up to my expectations. To be fair though, I could put that down over exuberance on my part and maybe an unrealistic expectation. But then, this was the Radisson after all!!<br/ <br/ So with an open mind, and palate I was ready to embrace this current instalment of the Radisson Saturday Supper Club hosted in conjunction with Montpellier wines. The vineyard has a rich history stretching some 300 years, and is situated in the picturesque Tulbagh Valley. The name is taken from the French city of Montpellier where its first owners originated from.<br/ <br/ On arrival the Montpellier Chenin Blanc which was a lovely crisp, fruity and refreshing wine, was served with the canapés. These delicious little morsels consisted of Goats’s cheese and beetroot, as well as monk fish.<br/ <br/ Our first course was the Beef Consommé with beef dim sum and mushrooms. This course was served with the Montpellier Cabernet Sauvignon 2012. My first reaction was “Wow!” This wine was very easy drinking and smooth, with hardly any tannin aftertaste. This could be down to the fact that it is matured in French oak barrels for 12 months before being bottled and left to mature. <br/ <br/ The second course was the hearty Karoo Lamb stew served with mash, perfect on a chilly winters evening. This course was paired with the Montpellier Shiraz 2012, which really surprised me, it was not too dissimilar to the Cabernet Sauvignon in terms of complexity and I found it really beautifully balanced with delicate, soft tannins.<br/ <br/ The final course consisted of Bar-One Bread and Butter pudding. I must add that one would easily been forgiven for reading this description and thinking of that dessert your mom used to prepare on a Sunday afternoon. I can assure you this is not it. This course was the star of the show for me and was rib-sticking good!! Brioche bread, chocolate custard, Oreo crumbs and yummy honey and cinnamon sugar cone bits served with ice cream. This was amazing course both in terms of taste as well as presentation; it was accompanied by the Montpellier MCC Brut Chardonnay.<br/ <br/ I really enjoyed this event and I was really impressed by the quality of wine produced on this little Wine farm in Tulbagh; it’s definitely worth a visit in my opinion.
Great location! The view really is stunning. The decor is spot on and gives the place an elegant and sophisticated vibe. Prices are on the steep side so it's more of a place to visit for special occasions. Really great wide selection of drinks and meals. Desserts are to die for!
LATE POSTI was here for work and spent 2 nights at the hotel #living la vida loca. The dinner was great buffet with multiple options YUM! The next morning, we got a table in the sun #priceless. I like how the staff takes you seriously as a customer whether you there for coffee, full breakfast or just to enjoy the sun. I'll be coming back in CPT in the summer and will be enjoying the seafood and good service at Tobago's
