The staff is professional, well-trained, efficient, and friendly. With stunning views of the harbor, Seelan is perfect for brunch or lunch, and it transforms beautifully into a cozy evening setting under the stars. Guests truly feel special dining here. The restaurant features both outdoor seating and a lovely bar area. There are also televisions that often showcase sports and important events. Choosing Seelan as a venue is a smart decision; they take excellent care of their patrons and attend to every detail. Occasionally, they have live music or a DJ, adding to the vibrant atmosphere. You’re sure to create wonderful memories here!
The food was pretty good, service was quite slow had to ask for things multiple times as the elderly waiter would forget. Overall great location, although the restaurant itself could do with a little maintenance and cleaning!
This is one of the most beautiful restaurants located on the edge of the Bay at the V&A Waterfront in Cape Town. It’s particularly serene on Sunday mornings when this usually bustling place is calm, allowing you to enjoy a fantastic view of all the large and small ships anchored in the harbor, as well as some entertaining locals and tourists as they set out to sea! The restaurant also boasts an incredible vista of the breathtaking Table Mountain, one of the New Seven Wonders of the World. You can even see the Big Wheel from the outdoor seating, making the atmosphere truly surreal. You will never be disappointed when you arrive here. The table settings are always elegant, featuring white tablecloths, small vases of fresh mini flowers, and high-quality napkins proudly adorned with the name "Seelan." The staff members, including some seasoned male employees, provide exceptional service. Our waiter was Pappa Joe, who was highly knowledgeable and attentive. The gourmet breakfast options have a diverse selection, and you can trust that you'll receive a freshly prepared and delightful meal. For breakfast, I tried the Primi Vera Egg Custard accompanied by a tomato rocket salad, but if you’re particularly hungry, you may want to skip experimenting and stick with the basics for the time being—perhaps next time! The interior of the restaurant is quite spacious, complete with a full bar and seating. On Thursday nights, they host Jazz Night from 6 PM to 10 PM, creating a lovely atmosphere. They even provide a “Drive You Home” service called “Nite Owls” for those who might have enjoyed one too many drinks—how thoughtful! Plus, they offer meal deals through Wiki Deals, which are very affordable. This restaurant is a must-visit! It offers a truly valuable experience. I discovered today that the kitchen is fully “HALAAL,” which is a big plus. Overall, I would rate this place a perfect 10 out of 10 for its great location along Table Bay, where you can enjoy magnificent views while savoring one of their many gourmet dishes. Our personal favorite is the laid-back Sunday morning breakfast, featuring scrumptious options like a coriander sausage served with a delightful salsa, grilled mushrooms, tomatoes, and a lovely bread roll. It’s wonderful to sit back and watch the boats and ships come and go, giving the place a genuine international vibe. If you opt for outdoor seating, particularly on a warm summer morning, you can enjoy the spectacular view of Table Mountain in all its glory. The staff is consistently friendly and helpful, making each visit a pleasure—this was not our first time here, and it certainly won’t be our last. The food is always good, clean, and delicious!
We got good tickets to the place and it was literally hidden. a plane below the balthazar at the harbour. the waiter was very friendly, who could easily call the 6 dishes and 3 deserts for us, which was available. we chose both the bark fillet that was beautiful, add that the mushrooms and pfeffer sauces we received was a damn nice wise better than any other place where we ate. the chips were good, the wobbles I thought were killed by the cook. I never remember eating crispy tweeper rings. I would also like to try one of their seafood. a single plate at R700 and double at r1200. I would be curious and would like to see if they match the price on taste and presentation.
We used a hyperli voucher which got us a main and a dessert. The food was decent, nothing much to speak of. Prawns are always subpar (smallest prawns I’ve seen). Dessert was amazing. Service was okay and the ambience was really spot on. I would return but only with vouchers as the prices for the platters are way above average.
