With several hours to kill, we decided to have supper at the Hotel Port aux Basques because we had never tried it before. The decor in the dining room was a little dated; however, we were pleasantly surprised by the variety of menu choices offered. In addition to the standard fare that you would expect at such a restaurant, there were selections such as ginger moose stir fry and cod tongue dinner. The server was very attentive, and our ordered choices did not disappoint. The food was delicious, served hot and there was plenty of it at a very reasonable price. Having tried several of the local eateries, we would rank this as the best place to dine in Port aux Basques. We will certainly be stopping here again on our next ferry trip.
Was a very convenient place to eat as it was located right in the hotel. Service was good and food was ok, not great but not bad either. Would have no issue going back.
Four adults ate supper. The fish cake dinner was tasty. Home fries and 3 generous sized fish cakes with a lot of fish in them. The Tom turkey dinner with all the trimmings was also very tasty. The chicken breast with salad was very good and very generous amount of food. The daily special was pork chops. Again very generous but a little overcooked. I would recommend this restaurant .
Forced to dine at this restaurant because our hotel dining room couldn't accommodate us. We were treated excellent. The service was fast, friendly and the food was good too.
We ate here our first night and were pleased with the quality of the food. The fried cod was good and not overcooked. The Honey Garlic Chicken was tasty and filling.
