Contribuiți la feedbackWe came here on a Friday evening with 2. This is a local Tuscan family restaurant serving local food and wines (20 40 euro) Friendly staff grand father , father, daughter… informing guests about the different courses, ingredients and wines. Good quality food not premium or culinary. Definitely recommendable. Best book upfront as the restaurant is usually full.
The food is good. Pase of courses was kind off high. The waitress was great! We thought the food was above par and it had a fair price. The waitress was nice and more than sufficient in English. The only 'but ' is, that if we can make a reservation at 21:00 and we eat at a decent pase, you rather accept that we finish our desert at 22:20 or you leave the lights on outside. All in all it 's a good restaurant. Some small things to improve on.
I was here recently with a big group of family members. We ordered a wide variety of foods from antipasto to dessert. I ordered the macaroni with Tuscan pesto. It was delicious. My husband had the tempura which was a combination of lightly battered and fried vegetables, chicken, and rabbit. The house wine was very good, a nice red blend, and we had one of the best cheesecakes I've ever had for dessert. The building is charming. We were outside on the veranda.
Full disclosure: my Italian cousins live very close to this restaurant; however, they had never been here before our dinner this last week. It was a family get-together of 13 people. The food was very good and so was the service. The menu has some very good pastas and seconds. I ordered the fried chicken and rabbit (it came with deep-fried vegetables which was a pleasant surprise). My wife ordered the macaroni with Tuscan pesto which was delicious. One cousin ordered the tortellini stuffed with tripe which was very good. The house wine is actually very high quality. When my cousins like a local restaurant, you know the food is going to be good.
On a Tuesday evening, we dropped in for dinner, to find most tables occupied – This osteria is obviously very popular with locals. The menu offers the usual range of Tuscan dishes, and the wine list features several good local wines. Our choices of pasta were very tasty, although perhaps a bit over-spiced with thyme and/or sage. The overwhelming favourite was the deliciously-creamy sformata, plus the frozen yoghurt frutta di bosca for dessert. The service was very friendly, casual and efficient.
