The construction crew has been working on renovating the space for several weeks now. Decided to try this restaurant on a whim, absolutely the worst dining experience I 've ever had at a restaurant. The dining room was about 1/2 full, there were 2 waitresses working. We were seated, and waited almost 10 minutes for someone to take our drink order. After the waitress told us in passing about 3 times that "I 'll be right back to take your order, she finally came back another 10 minutes later. We placed our order, two breakfast specials with no customizations or special requests. We waited. And waited. And waited some more. 50 minutes later, our order still hadn 't made it to our table, and 2 tables that were seated after us had already been served. The television was playing a sermon from some televangelist, followed by infomercials for medicare coverage. Riveting. The service was awful, and we left after being there for 70 minutes with only 2 glasses of water making it to our table. While waiting for food that would never come, I had plenty of time to take notice of the filth everywhere. Air vents in the ceiling looked like they 've never been cleaned, the floors were gross, and the bathroom was downright unfit for human use. I don 't even want to imagine how disgusting the kitchen must be, it 's obvious that the staff here just doesn 't care. Strongly recommend going literally anywhere else. How a place this poorly staffed/managed obtained a rating higher than 1 star blows my mind, it 's obvious that nobody on the payroll cares anymore.
The absolute, most abhorrently run restaurant I have ever had the displeasure of being at. First off, the staff was extremely dismissive of me and shooed everyone to a table like they were a nuisance. The servers barely took care of the tables, mine included (maybe stopped by mine twice) and never gave me a second water like I asked for. As a side note, If you are not happy to be in service, they are other places to work. This probably stems from the place being extremely understaffed. The owners of this building need to hire more staff in order for this places to survive. Secondly, I was finally able to order my food after sitting for 20 mins with one water. In that time, I was checked on once and only once. It was 50 mins before my food came out. It was even busy at the time I went (sometime in the early morning). Thirdly, the food was not that bad, but not good either, it was just fine. The bread was soggy and the eggs were dry. It was also more expensive than most coney islands in the area. Lastly, the both I was at was sticky and wet at the same time. The atmosphere was non existent and bland. They even used two of the same photos on the wall right next to each other. Everything is just wrong with this place. My advice to you is avoid this places at all costs. You spend more than the food is worth, you will feel gross, you will not be waited on, and you will be judged. Literally go anywhere else.
This is my place to go. Good food. Staff is attentive. Owners are great.
Chicken fried steak and mashed potatoes and a coffee. Overpriced at $18.00.I don't know what they did to the instant mashed potatoes, but it tasted like they put three times the amount of salt than the recipe called for. I don't know how anyone can ruin instant mashed potatoes, but they did. My mouth was burning, and I couldn't get enough to drink. It wasn't the waitress's fault. She was tipped more than 20%, but I did tell her to have the cook taste the potatoes. (No offer to replace with some other potato product) They needed to start over with a new batch before someone had a stroke from the salt. It was like someone misread a quarter cup of salt, and they put in 3/4 cup. Please be careful sometimes people are very sensitive to salt. You probably could have gotten away with not putting any salt in those instant mashed potatoes! They put one type of chunky gravy on the chicken fried steak and another type of gravy on the potatoes. I probably won't ever stop here again. Can't trust them to make anything without ruining it, and then charging an overpriced amount.
The food was just ok. The ladies were nice. The bowl of doup was more like a cup size. I probably wouldn't go back.
