They said they only cook them medium well. I thought that was strange for a place with burger in the name, however, it actually came out between medium rare, and medium, AND IT WAS EXCELLENT!
Blend of a family entertainment center (milkshakes on tap) with an adult sports bar atmosphere. Good food. Great fries- cut thin, stayed crisp.
As of the time of this review, Coaches Burger Bar holds a 4.6 out of 5 star ranking, and given how plainly bad the experience I had was, I’m not entirely sure how.We went a bit after 5 on a Saturday for a quick dinner after seeing the great reviews and hoping for an equally great burger. The room was about half filled, but the hostess seemed more interested in getting back to her phone than helping us to a table. Given the demeanor, I opted for the bar fearing that service might mirror our hostess’ attitude. Service, from this point was slightly hit and miss, but mostly unremarkable. To start, I order a beer from their large number of taps and my wife stuck with water. My Breckenridge Christmas ale was good, and the cinnamon sugar rum was a nice touch. At $5 for a tall, the price was good too. The water unfortunately tasted awful. The kind of skunky, maybe this gun filter hasn’t been cleaned in a minute flavor you occasionally encounter. Before I get to the food, let’s talk about atmosphere. The bar has a decent layout, with a half circle around some TVs, high tops in the middle, booths down the sides, and a game area to one side. Despite over 50% of that being filled, the place was strangely quiet. Like I felt like I couldn’t talk too loud or everyone would hear me. Combined with the sort of aloof service staff, the environment was casual, but felt strangely unwelcoming. Perhaps an off night, but still notably odd.Given their name of burger bar, we ordered two burgers (a Big Texan and the Bacon Shroom Burger). There isn’t a choice of cook here, and burgers come out advertised as medium well, which is probably pretty close. The burgers themselves are uniform in size, a denser pack patty, and seasoned to the point where it’s not noticeable (in either a good or bad way). They come with a good layer of cheese as well, and the bun is acceptable. If it seems like my description of this burger is relatively uninteresting, then you’re experience reading this is similar to mine eating the burger.Points of differentiation between our two burgers. On my burger, the American cheese, barbecue sauce, and bacon, we’re all decent and added a little something to the burger. Then there were onion tanglers, which are basically fried onion straws, which were good, except for the occasional crispy bit that seemed determined to break a tooth. The first one I encountered I thought was a fluke, but after the next three, it became like eating something that contained bones eating somewhat more gingerly just in case.My wife’s burger was similar, with a nice amount of bacon, a decent herb aioli, and oddly as she eventually noted. No noticeable mushrooms which is kind of an issue for a bacon shroom burger. To top it off, the fries were limp, soggy, and the oil may not have been to temp or the freshest. The did seem to be home made, but unfortunately the execution let them down.At over $15 a burger, the level of expectation set versus the delivered product is really hard to swallow, especially given this isn’t some burger bar on a Miami Beach or overlooking Boston Harbor. With a few of the issues aside, I think this could probably be a 3 4 star place, but there are just too many service and quality issues to figure how this is anywhere near 5. They’re far from the only game in town, and the quality isn’t meaningfully differentiated from a winking lizard (although they may have a leg up on the alcohol costs, but it’s washed out by the food prices). Overall, just not a fan of Coaches.
Great Place and service.. their Buffalo pizza was on point and very cheesy. Waitress Chloe was awesome and checked on us periodically which was a good thing. The burgers as well we're really good and they made them just right. I will be going here again for sure in the near future to try more of their food.Parking: Parking location was good also.. not too crowded.
First and foremost!! As soon as we walked in the door we were treated by the most awesome lady! Her name was Tammy! We went Monday night to play some pool and have a couple drinks and I must say she made it more enjoyable! The bar itself is very clean and nice although I have not seen a lot of traffic through there but it's one of my faves only because it's not a place I expect a outrage of people! The pool tables are nice, but I would recommend being your own pool cues. As for the service it's almost worth it going there just for that! Tammy was great! She never let out drinks go dry and she was not shy at all making sure we were taken care of! I think we might turn it into a Monday night thing to go play pool and have a couple drinks from Tammy. As for the food. We have been there a few times in the past and it's pretty good food. I would say for a Sports bar it's in my top fave for the area!
