Cefalicchio Country House

I can hardly improve on Matman8x8 's review. We too stayed at the Cefalicchio B B, itself far more than a B B. How many of us go to Italy and think I really must find the best local food . But does that actually happen often? Probably not. This time we really did find it. What a treat! Superb food. And each night of four, we went to dinner at this restaurant (which is an adjunct to the B B, not part of it) with eager anticipation all fully justified. No menu; just a word or two from Francesco and some choice. Highlights; tagliatelle in a truffle sauce was heaven. The risotto ai funghi too. Smoked wild boar salsicche with a pumpkin sauce. Tasty beef. This is genuine, fresh, hearty, satisfying, tasty, cooking. We absolutely loved it. Francesco and his wife are the warmest of hosts (and she the best of chefs), and the kindest of people. They made it more than a meal but a lovely experience. The wines are local and pleasurable. The prices very reasonable indeed. I hope this becomes a destination restaurant not just visited by those visiting the B B. It deserves every success. Having written this I now so wish I were going back down to dinner there tonight!

Very good local cuisine. Real Apulian quality food. Very tasty and varied appetizers. great pasta’s and nice meat. you can taste the local ingredients, and do not forget the excellent local wines. But most of all you get a warm welcome and great service. We stayed in the adjacent B&B for 4 nights and were hooked from day one by the nice atmosphere and decided very quickly we wanted to eat here every night of our stay.

We had a fantastic dinner, with excellent food, a lovely ambience and kind attention. We arrived late at night and we’re surprised by the set menu, which included several small plates and a delicious pasta main. The tiramisu at the end was the perfect conclusion. Highly recommended!
