View Grill - Cannock Chase

The staff's service was exceptional, and the food was incredibly tasty! I will certainly be coming back soon.

The View Bar Grill is on the top floor of the Holiday Inn and we ate in it when staying at the hotel. We were very perplexed when trying to go from our room to the restaurant to find that there is no up button on the lift. When we called it using the single button it was going down. We managed to change this but to travel from room to restaurant yu may have go via the ground floor. The restaurant has a great view over the area. The menu is mainly pub fayre, bur we found the food tasty and the service was very good.

I enjoyed afternoon tea here—it was a bit pricey, but the food was excellent, and Natasha was very friendly. The views of Cannock were fantastic!

The staff seemed more focused on their own conversations than on serving customers. I was hoping to grab a pint before heading to bed, but I stood at the bar for over a minute before they even noticed I was there. Eventually, they poured me a drink, but when I sat down, the restaurant, despite not being overly busy, had inattentive staff. It felt like they assumed hotel guests would come regardless, making service a low priority. Listening to their conversations about their dislike of sports, along with debates on smoking and guns, definitely did not enhance my experience.

I've stayed at the Holiday Inn a couple of times now, and the hotel restaurant is the View Bar Grill. It's decent, but I would only recommend it for straightforward meals like salads, pizzas, or burgers. Trying more adventurous dishes might not lead to a positive experience.
