Contribuiți la feedbackSix friends planned to meet at this restaurant for a few drinks. One of our group had a baby girl who became upset. The owner approached us and said, "I'm sorry, but if you can't calm her down, I may have to ask you to leave." As a father of older children, I can understand how this must have felt for the parents. It was outrageous. The owner then proceeded to continue playing cards with a group of about 8 people. In short, I would not recommend this pub if you are not a local and definitely not a place for children.
Nice friendly local pub ,landlord keeps a nice pint with plenty of choice large room plenty space with added attractions of garden looking over the canal . Ideal for a quick refresher .
While boating down the Trent and Mersey canal, I stumbled upon this hidden gem of a pub that is not even listed in the Pearson's guide. It is not visible from the canal, but the word "pub" and an arrow were hastily scrawled on Bridge 65, pointing the way. Though they do not offer real ale, they do have Guinness and the atmosphere is very welcoming with friendly staff.
I first visited this small family-run pub on a Sunday last year and have returned several times since. They only serve hot lunches on Sundays, but the food is delicious and made with fresh vegetables. My husband adores their cauliflower cheese dish. They offer a choice of three meats, which you can select and they bring it to your table. The staff is friendly and attentive, and the food is exceptional. Due to their growing reputation, I recommend booking in advance as it can be difficult to secure a table. The pub itself is clean and well-maintained, with immaculate toilets stocked with a variety of soaps and hand creams. Overall, a fantastic dining experience.
