Thanh Mai Restaurant - CANLEY HEIGHTS

My niece took us here for dinner and I was a little worried because the restaurant was empty.

I've been a regular here over the years and this is my go to for authentic Vietnamese cuisine.My favorite dish is Com Bo Luc Lac (beef cubes with tomato rice) - the beef is always soft, tender and perfectly cooked.Reasonably priced and open late... much better alternative to a kebab or Maccas after a night out.

For a typical Vietnamese restaurant, you get what you pay for. Customer service was lacking as the wait staff seemed quite rushed to get me ordered and out the door within the shortest amount of time. They had grabbed the menu and started walking away before I had finished giving my order. When the food arrived, part of the dish was not there (I had no idea as it was my first time there). The same wait staff came by minutes later with part of my dish, reached over my shoulder and placed it on my plate. Highly inappropriate and not what you would expect in any restaurant. With many other Vietnamese restaurants on this street, I might give this one a miss next time.

This is one of my favourite local Restraurant as i have live in this area for 7 years , nice foods good services .

The staff were not overly friendly and the kitchen forgot to cook one dish, but that one dish arrived quickly once we reminded them. However, the wait for that one dish was well worth it and the overall meal was very good and very reasonably priced. Will visit again.
