Tandoori House Indian Restaurant

I really enjoyed the Malai kofta at this restaurant. It was very soft and delicious, and I haven't had such a tasty Malai kofta in years.

For the best British Indian cuisine in town, look no further. Excellent quality.

Well, where do I start ? It was a cold and stormy night - the restaurant felt good as we entered - warm and cosy. Cheerful staff and a nice look to it. Empty of any other patrons - but it was only just after 6pm. After checking it was BYO we bought a few beers and got our wine ready.Service was good - not pushy and a good variety of foods.We had a double entree to start which easily fed 3. We then went for a few standard dishes, with sides (naan, etc) and rice. They were of a good size and served in lovely containers. It was here that things started to go pear-shape. The dishes - or the sauces on them - seemed saturated in salt. It was so bad we couldn't eat some. We don't have salt on the table at home but this was more than that. It felt like the main ingredient to all dishes was salt.Only one other group joined us in the restaurant - odd for a Saturday night - and a few came for take-away. Not sure if this was a regular thing as we don't come from the area - but it could be if others had experienced the salt problem.Will we go back - probably not. The "salt" spoiled what could have been a great night - and spoilt the dishes - which were presented very well and looked delicious.

Liked the Chicken curry - delicious & the tandoori fish starter. Quick courteous service. Roti too small and not as thick as I would have expected. No option of warm /hot fresh vegetables.

Very friendly service from a lovely husband and wife team. A favourite with locals. Nice atmosphere. Highly recommended.
