Stock Kitchen & Bar - Canberra

Food was very good. Staff were attentive, but not in your face. Wine was very good. Just missing good company. Nice place with quiet and relaxing atmosphere. I'll eat here again.

Went for dinner to Stock Kitchen & Bar and thought it was pretty good. The menu had a reasonable range of meals to choose from. Our table had the rib eye cutlet, pork and chicken and each person was happy with their meal. Most of us had apple crumble for dessert and that was very nice. The service was polite and friendly. There were not many people in the restaurant which made it feel like we waited some time for our meals. However when taking into account there were lots of trays going out the door for room service orders so the wait was understandable (but if you didn't see that you would definitely be wondering what the staff are doing). The wine selection is small but adequate. I chose a locally produced red wine from Shaw, which was very nice. The ambience is not the best, not a destination if you are planning a romantic dinner as it feels like a cafe / breakfast room in a hotel, which essentially it is. Overall a good night - happy with the food, drinks and service.

Very good food and ambient.I really enjoyed the dinner. My absolute favourite dish was the beef steak, tender and perfectly cooked. Good wines selection and excellent coffee, I had an espresso and was divine.Great service, the staff is very attentive and prepared. I asked about my wine (a Shiraz) and the description they gave me was absolutely correct. I will definitely recommend this place for a dinner with friends.I'll certainly return very soon.Grazie

My husband and I had dinner at the Stock Kitchen & Bar earlier tonight and the food was amazing. The best and most tender calamari we have ever had and the mains we had were also amazing. We would certainly recommend this restaurant if you want good food with friendly staff. The service we received was excellent. We would like to thank the staff for a very good dining experience.

We visited Stock Kitchen & Bar for the first time and was very underwhelmed from both the atmosphere and food. The feel of the place was not very inviting, its a hotel breakfast area not a warm, pleasant area that feels like a evening eatery, the lighting was also way too bright. The descriptions on the menu to what you actually got on the plate was very poor and the quantity of highlighted ingredient was very lacking. I didnt get a stuff duck breast and ther was no hot smoked chicken. The portion size of the Poachers Pantry Plate for $22 was extremely over priced for what was served. We also used our entertainment card to receive a 25% discount on the total bill and realised after arriving home that the discount given was not 25% the difference was not big but that is not the point. Unfortunately our experience was not great. Definitely wont go back.
