La Guardia - Campeche

This restaurant has it all. We stayed in the Hacienda Puerta Hotel for six nights and had a number of meals in La Guardia. First, the food is fantastic. Chef Arturo has done a great job integrating local and traditional ingredients, spices and techniques into very interesting dishes. Check out the wine list for some very nice wines. Service is very friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. Servers Carlos (dinner) and Jocelyn (breakfast and lunch) were great. They were very helpful with our limited Spanish. Given the US dollar exchange rate, the prices were extremely reasonable. The setting is beautiful. This place is comparable to the best restaurants in Los Angeles, San Francisco, New York, or anywhere. We tried other places in Campeche and they cannot compare.; If you are looking for a unique gastronomic experience give it a try.
