Papa's Puerto Rican Cuisine New York Pizza

There are only a few Puerto Rican restaurants in the Western PA and Ohio region, and even fewer that serve pasteles. I called ahead to order three dozen pasteles, and they had them ready for me when I arrived. They were delicious and definitely worth the nearly hour-long drive.

Authentic Puerto Rican food crafted by locals from Ponce, offering incredible and genuine flavors. I highly recommend this place to anyone curious about the cuisine. The ambiance could use some updating, but for me, it felt just like home.

My husband is from Connecticut, and this is the closest local restaurant he likes to eat at. It's definitely delicious and brings back memories of East Coast dining. As for parking, the lot can get a bit crowded if you visit during peak hours.

The service was amazing. Since it was our first time there we asked for advice about what was popular and tried a little bit of everything. The beef and cheese pastelillo was nice and beefy but the chicken and cheese was even better. The relleno was a much better version of a fried mashed potato ball than any other version I have had, with a little beef inside too. We got the slow roasted pork meal as well which was delicious and came with yellow rice which was amazing. The chef even brought out some beans to go with it on the house and they were delicious too. We got to try all their sauces. The mojito sauce was the best but they were all good. We're having the leftovers for dinner right now because we don't want to wait to have more. Give them a try!

We were so disappointed. We ordered the Shrimp Mofongo at $16 a plate, you'd think we'd get more than 6 little shrimp. Not just the portions but the Taste was also suffering. The owner Carmelo was extremely kind and offered to make his special Steak Mofongo Yeah NO. No Bueno...He discounted the price of the Shrimp, but although we didn't like the steak or the rest of the food He still charged us. $57.00 for A Stomach Ache.The ONLY food that was Okay was the pastelillos the empanadas. Luckily I ordered one of each flavor and that's basically all we ate. The rest went to our 5 little rescue dogs. Parking: We drive a class c rv, there's plenty of room.
