The staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating, which was the highlight of our visit. Given that we arrived in Tralee around 1:45 PM after a red-eye flight from the USA, we didn't start our hike until 3 PM. With 13 miles to cover, we worried about making it to Ashes before closing time, but we arrived just in time. The kitchen prepared an excellent meal for us, and we were genuinely grateful for their hospitality. I noticed a less favorable review mentioning that some travelers might find it a bit pricey, but honestly, the prices were in line with what you’d expect for the area we hiked through over the course of nine days. I didn’t feel anything was overpriced. As for the food, I did find myself adding a bit of salt, pepper, and hot sauce to many dishes in Ireland. Overall, we loved Ashes, and I will definitely return whenever I'm back on the Dingle Peninsula.
