Contribuiți la feedbackWhenever I am out in Camden looking for a nice, affordable meal, I used to go to The Town Grill instead of Woody Grill across the street because of the friendly staff, large portions, and quieter atmosphere. However, in the last six months, the quality has declined significantly. The restaurant does not accept card payments, which is inconvenient for a sit-down restaurant. They often have a limited selection of starters, which is frustrating for customers. The tea is overpriced and the starters are often burnt and overcooked. The lamb is too fatty and it seems like they reuse the free bread they offer. I used to enjoy dining here, but now it feels like a waste of time. My sister and I ended up leaving after the starter and went elsewhere for our main course. Despite being located across from the more popular Woody Grill, The Town Grill does not seem motivated to improve and attract more customers.
When I came in I wanted to order take away and asked if it was possible to plug my phone in the socket while my food was ready). I was made to order from inside (even though wanted to go), all I wanted was wrap but ordered chips too. When I went to was my hands (less than a minute) food was on the table. I love Turkish food and always go there to enjoy their meals, what I had on the plate was far from good. The doner was chucked into bread and place on napkin which was full of oil. When I tried to eat it was falling apart. When I asked the lady(who was nice) to wrap it up properly I was given the same thing back, which was also cold inside. My bill was £10 and when I asked the gentleman who served me, he said because you ate in(who made me do so). When I mentioned that I wasn 't happy with the food, he was in rage and said you have a problem,I see hundreds like you every day . It was humiliating and embarassing as I never experienced such rude comments in public. Then he mentioned that I came with grumpy face and have choice not to come anymore. I was pretty upset all evening as I overreacted and my time was ruined. To all the staff in this restaurant, especially that gentleman, if you don 't wanna be here, go home and don 't ruin other people 's time. Never ever coming back! Very ignorant and poor service
Reasonably priced for takeout, the generous portion of chicken shish in a wrap is a standout item. While not the top kebab spot in Camden, it is certainly not the worst either.
My party visited this restaurant on a Wednesday evening. We were the only customers in there, but we had noticed the kebab shop a few times before and it looked inviting. We started with olives and hummus, and then ordered a chicken shish and a lamb kebab. The food was okay, but not exceptional.
My brother and I happened to stumble upon this restaurant and decided to give it a try. Despite it being a Sunday evening, the place was empty. We ordered a chicken shish, which came with a small portion of salad and bread, but the price was higher than expected. When we requested tap water, the waiter initially brought still water instead. It took a long time for the correct order to arrive. The atmosphere was lacking, and we felt it would have been better to just get takeout. The additional charges were not clearly communicated. Overall, we would have preferred dining at a different restaurant.
