Waypoint - Cambridge

Second time at Waypoint--last time 08/2022. Definitely quieter than 2 summers ago. Menu: varied and tasty. Parking: no street parking--valet was $25 tip which is highway robbery worth a single plate. Food was tasty and plentiful, just that the soft sheel crab was undercooked and got sick

Waypoint seems like a restaurant that is a bit tired and has lost its creative edge. It once was the best of Cambridge with a creative and innovative menu, great atmosphere, super cocktail scene and a dynamic wine list. It's not that anymore. The oysters are still a great deal and servers friendly but it's not the place it once was.

My family celebrated Father's Day with a simple meal at this cozy and warm restaurant. The cod and salmon had a right balance of flavors with the sides. We had a wonderful time. Thank you for the great service!

The table we were given was not easy to get in or out, so while it was a booth, it was not a good fit for us. The food was good, we had oysters that we came for but were a bit disappointed with selection this time. Granted it is not the prime season for oysters, however we expected a better selection from a local restaurant that has access to local oyster farms. Also, the staff was not as knowledgeable as before, and order was a bit mixed up. The rest of the food was yummy, but a bit overpriced. Overall it was not the experience we had the first time and we were hoping to replicate.

The service was dreadful. One of the dishes we ordered came 40 minutes after the other two. It was angel hair pasta, which doesn't take more than 3 minutes to cook. The waitress was no where to be found at the end of the meal to give us the check.
