El Tecolote - Camarillo

The first time I ever went there. service was great, eating was great, beautiful environment and they have to sit outside.

We hadn't been here in a few years so we decided to revisit El Tecolote. The food was delicious and substantial. Be really hungry when you come here, the portions are large. My kids really enjoyed the chips and salsa as well.

I had the Carnitas plate and my wife ordered the Chicken Chimichanga and It already comes with rice on the Plate and tell me why there was berly any Chicken and Literally just Filled with nothing but rice, SMH and to top it off it cost nearly 20 Bucks for the Chimichanga just to end up getting Rice wrapped in a Tortilla, the Salsa And Chips were the Best part of the Whole experience. We Literally would have to wait forever to get a Refill on Our Drinks maybe cuz we weren't drinking? Who knows but I Would never recommend it. For the Price we paid I could of Ate way better somewhere else and for Less Money

I was a little skeptical after reading some of the critical reviews, but pleasantly surprised. I ordered the taco, cheese enchilada and chile relleno combination with rice and beans. It was very plentiful and good. The chips were thick and authentic and the salsa was perfect. Service was good and I would certainly come back. I would definitely recommend El Tecolote to anyone who's looking for some good Mexican food.

I noticed that the two combo meals on the menu included three items each, which was a bit confusing. I was hoping for a two-item combo without having to order à la carte. The taco shell wasn’t very crispy, making it difficult to bite into. I prefer fresh poblano peppers for the chili relleno, but the Anaheim chili was decent, and the cheese enchilada was good as well. Overall, dinner was just okay, but the margarita really spoiled the experience for me.
