Contribuiți la feedbackThis hotel seems to feature on Tripadvisor as a restaurant but it actually is quite a large hotel with rooms on several floors. I stayed here for several days on a bed and breakfast basis and took most of my meals in the restaurant. My...room was an odd mixture of minimalist modernism and a very ancient wooden wardrobe inscribed with its date of manufacture, 1793. The bathroom was very small but functional (shower only, from which it was easy to flood the floor). There were a couple of irritating features/deficiencies, like: no hairdryer. Curtains very thin, letting in street lighting at night and daylight early in the morning. Free wi fi was provided but it did not work in the room. I had to sit in the corridor to take advantage of this facility. The restaurant was good, offering reasonably priced Schnitzel, beef, veal and fish dishes, plus the obligatory ‘Maultaschen’, a type of stuffed pasta very popular in Swabia. The draught beer advertised outside was not available. There is a ‘cosy’ bar on the ground floor but it is not recommended to non smokers as it is licensed for smoking (as many such German establishments still are) and the regulars make full use of this facility. The breakfast was very disappointing, consisting mainly of thin slices of cheese and German sausage, cereals and fruit. The tea was so weak as to be undrinkable. And on Sunday, when I had to leave early, I was informed rather gruffly that breakfast would not be available before 8 am.
Stayed here recently. The room was clean , the bed was comfortable, and clean. The TV was too big for the size of the room. The showerhead was leaking badly. There was no shower cubicle! Only a curtain that was not big enough to keep...the water in. Both myself and my wife flooded the bathroom while showering. It struck me that they should buy a smaller TV, and spend what they save on that on a proper shower cubicle! Breakfast was average, although not included in the room price, which makes the room price a bit too hefty. The waitress was very friendly The location of the hotel was really good. Right in the middle of the town. Sort out the shower, I would stay again.
We were with our family in the Schwarzwald and had dinner in Rossle. We ended up there asking the people in Calw for a good restaurant. The food was typical German. So big portions of all typical Schnitzels and Spatzle at very good prices and...quality. So if You are in Calw and want to have a German lunch or dinner You can visit for sure Rossle.
I think this hotel/restaurant is very good, family run, staff are excellent, food , there is not a huge choice but what they bring out is extremely good . i for one will book here again when i come here for work, right in the...middle of town. Cannot fault it
