Bobs Cafe - Calvià

Carlos i cant tell you how much me and my four daughters love your place. first spoke to you in 2016 and mentioned that frozen chips were not real chips. next day you were peeling potatoes and making real chips! and ever since this guy peels and fries real potatoes unlike 99% percent of cafes on the island. i applaud you for your effort and was really pleased last month to see you were now advertising real chips!!! and still frying freshly peeled potatoes from north western mainland spain in galicia when the cheaper and easier option is to buy frozen fries which everone in the uk considers unacceptable for fish and chips. your fried fish is also great and my girls love your spaghetti bolognese burgers and pies as well. the owner of this cafe is very good with old and young alike speaks excellent english and has a fantastic customer friendly attitude. was initially disappointed to find bobs cafe gone but i have to say its now better in my opinion and nothing is too much to ask from carlos. except asking him to not support real madrid! look forward to seeing you again and best wishes from Brian, Kristin, Jenna, Madison and Lola from Scotland

I spoke with the new owner who was extraordinarliy helpful, not just in terms of the service and the food, but he was willing to share his knowledge of the Island and recommend a number of places for us to visit, which were a little different from the ones we'd been visiting. We had fish chips and they were definatley the best we had all holiday. He also brought out some tiny bread sticks and cheese which we thought was a really lovely touch. The cafe itself is a little way off the main street but to us, that was what made it all the more appealling. We can't recommend Merlins enough, so if you visit Santa Ponsa, you have to try this cafe. Worth every cent. One final comment, I wish we'd had a little more time on our hands as I so wanted to try their Paella which they take an hour over in their preparation, and anybody who knows anything about their food, will know that this dish will be properly and caringly created at the highest level.

Been to bobs cafe again Bob (Phil) retired at the end of last season the place is still open under new management it is called merlins cafe now the food is still great and they are doing a little less English food but will still do the favourite English food the prices have gone up a little only to be expected as been almost two years since my last review I can still highly recommend it and they do an awesome paella the service is excellent and friendly.

Fantastic breakfast and Sunday. bobbys make so many different things to eat. quality of food excellent.

Since we are here, it has been a long time ago, but the memories remain. I wanted to see the pictures of the food (nostalgic) and realized that I had never written a review. here it goes: great atmosphere, very good food, decent prices. large cautious huge portions. an extra good part breakfast every day:d
