Rodman's Cafe - Calumet-Norvelt

Stay away. Although some of the products are unusual, most of the Rodman employees don't speak or read English. They treat customers badly and seem to enjoy it. K. Steinhart

If you ever happen to be in or near Washington, DC and need to buy anything for a long or short term stay, this is the place to go to first!! A veritable DC institution! Now living in the SF Bay Area, I find myself missing the anticipatory escalator rides I would take down to this store's basement and which was always filled with such wonderful goodies. Such a great store! Sigh.

What can you say about Rodmans! Pickles from around the world, caper berries, stuffed grape leaves, wine from everywhere on the globe. If there is an international food or ingredient you want, they have it! I've been going to Rodmans for decades. My favorites are Domades Hungarian dill pickles Caper berries Capote capers German sauerkraut HP sauce Giardinera PLUS They have wine tasting! A great store.

The thing is that's it's cute that they had their store painted like Ukraine but meanwhile nothing for Afghans or Syrians. I have questions about your morals.

The management is personable and helpful. Almost never a line to checkout! They carry amazing products and have great prices. I've been shopping here for decades!
