Also, don't be put off by the bland descriptions on the menu Chef Will Artley adds layers of flavor to each dish, often times with a pop of heat or extra flavor right at the end of the bite. And the presentation of each dish is so beautiful and visually appealing and creative. Five stars!!
While on vacation in Washington DC, we were searching for a last minute restaurant to dine with our family. We were happy to discover Grist Mill, which was conveniently located within walking distance. We were seated promptly, and both the food and service exceeded our expectations.
Unbelievable little gem of a restaurant inside the Hilton garden inn of all places. Incredibly good and VERY reasonably priced food. I had the shrimp n grits as well as scallop appetizer special and this chef knows how to cook. Bravo!
The food and service at this restaurant are excellent. It's a hidden gem in Washington, D.C. that shouldn't be missed.
The restaurant did not honor our reservation. It was the night before the women's march and they were very busy. We rushed to another restaurant across town for dinner, happy that we had made a reservation. However, we were turned away at the door. This was due to poor planning on the restaurant's part. What made it even more frustrating was that I couldn't book another restaurant on OpenTable because they had not removed us from their system, so it showed that we still had a reservation at the same time. Very infuriating.
