Toni's Country Kitchen - Calumet

Another spot recommended by a former local resident, Toni's was our second stop on the pasty tour and came very close to taking first place! The authentic ingredients definitely made the drive worthwhile, and they were the only restaurant that offered butter with the pasty, which is a real game changer! The place was bustling, the staff was friendly, and every dish looked absolutely delicious. You could even smell the fresh baked goods from outside! This place is a favorite!!

The food was excellent, and the staff was friendly and attentive. The baked goods are absolutely amazing! Just a heads up: make sure to bring cash since they don't accept credit cards.

Consistently one of the best diners in the area. What it lacks in dining space it more than makes up for in service, food quality, and crazy low prices. I spent less than $11 for my meal and I got a whole breakfast; 3 eggs, 2 bacon, 2 sausage, a chunk of ham, 4 pieces of toast, and a helping of fried potatoes. And that was even with a drink!The food also tastes phenomenal. I've never had a bad experience. It's all cooked perfectly to order. And the service is fantastic. The ladies are all super nice and courteous. And the owner is a great guy. He'll often come talk to people and always has some great stories or something to share.The place is in a quiet spot and looks super unassuming. But don't let that fool you. Give this place a shot and you won't be disappointed. They have options for everyone so you'll get the amount of food that you need at super low prices compared to any other place in the area. Also, they only accept cash or checks. So make sure to have either on hand.
