While we don't dine in as often, we recently had a wonderful dinner here a couple of weeks ago. Dining in allows us to try new dishes beyond our usual orders. The waitress was exceptionally kind, even though she was the only one managing all the tables and handling the constant flow of Skip the Dishes and pickup orders. She took great care of us. We also really enjoy the tempura here - it's not something we usually order, but when we do, it's always from here. The portions are generous and the quality is top-notch for a small, unassuming sushi spot in the NW. However, we did notice that the lack of background music or a TV made the restaurant feel a bit too quiet for our liking. We prefer some ambient noise in the background while dining out.
I have a theory about sushi restaurants in strip malls - they exist for a reason. You don't go to a strip mall expecting a 4-star dining experience, especially with a name like Yume (which has a lot of double meaning). But surprisingly, some of the best sushi can be found in these off-the-beaten-path places, and this is one of them. When I try a new spot, the first thing I look for is miso soup - if it's over $1.50, I leave immediately. There is no reason for miso soup to be more than $3, as it's essentially bean paste tea. The rest is just details. The art of sushi isn't just about the food, but also the small details. From what I've read in previous reviews, Yume seems to have stepped up its game, which is great to see because it's surprisingly good and affordable.
This place is good if your looking for a casual night of sushi and don't want to spend a lot of money.<br/ <br/ Last time we were there they had changed their menu to include more trendy sushi rolls. We did try them but their original menu items were better! <br/ <br/
Nothing was bad here, but nothing was particularly great either. One point to make is that the prices have increased (not by much) from the menu on here. The service was good, the sushi was tasty but nothing really wowed me or my partner. If I'm ever in he area I would return but I'm not planning on making a trip just for it sushi again.
Sushi and rolls are yummy good! Ramen was ok. We also ordered fresh oyster and dis not like it it feels like its frozen and not that fresh anymore. Place is ok, fast service too.
