Towa Sushi - Calgary

We dined on a Friday evening and were surprised to find the place a little quiet. The staff promptly greeted us as we entered and service was super friendly over the course of our meal. We usually try to order a variety of things but definitely loved the tuna and salmon sashimi (melt in your mouth) and good size pieces. Agedashi tofu was tasty and we were a huge fan of the Grizzly roll with pineapple, honey mustard and salmon. Must go back to try the salmon tataki. Also heard they have a second location in West Springs area.

A recommendation from the hotel front desk staff. This place is cute and the food is delicious. The food portions are huge so don't be alarmed with the prices. You will get your money's worth. The staff are friendly and accommodating in separating our bill for work purposes.

My friend and I had lunch here on the weekend and I was very dissatisfied. I ordered the Hawaiian roll and her and I shared the sweetheart roll. The only thing about a Hawaiian roll making it be Hawaiian would be the pineapple right? Well it was out of the can. it was absolutely disgusting. it was just placed on top and by the time I tried to pick up these over sized sushi rolls everything had fallen apart. The ingredients in both rolls were bland and not flavorful at all. The service was lame, very lifeless and didn't seem to understand what I was saying. For 1 and a half rolls it cost me $25. The most expensive sushi I've ever had and probably the worst, CO-OP sushi tastes 10 X better. Maybe they need to pay off their high rent in Mission, I don't know. I definitely won't be back, that's for sure.

Make sure to try the Playboy Roll - it is cooked right in front of you over an open flame and tastes incredible. The servers were fast and friendly, and I also liked the spicy salmon roll. The sushi overall was delicious, the atmosphere was charming, and the service was good. However, the prices were a bit high. I would consider returning for a quiet and romantic dinner with my boyfriend.

I had an amazing dining experience at this sushi restaurant! The sushi was delicious and possibly the best I've had in years. While it may be a bit more expensive than other sushi places in Calgary, the quality makes it worth it. The rolls were large and packed with flavors, from the tasty rice to the flavorful nori, and a mix of vegetables and fish. The scallop tempura roll was superb, and the Wave roll and spicy salmon were also fantastic. The chunks of fresh farmed salmon in the spicy salmon roll were a highlight. The black and white roll was simple but tasty. The wild salmon nigiri was incredible, with a sweeter taste than farmed salmon. Our Deluxe Sashimi assortment included amazing salmon, soft red tuna, fantastic white tuna, flavorful clams, sweet shrimp, and tender scallops. The sashimi was a perfect addition to our meal. Overall, the experience was fantastic and I highly recommend this restaurant for sushi lovers!
